13th International Conference "ICT IN THE EDUCATION OF THE BALKAN COUNTRIES"
Dear colleague,
The Balkan Society for Pedagogy and Education and St Kliment Ohridski Sofia University – Department of Information and In-service Training of Teachers are honoured to invite you to the 13th International Conference which takes place in Bulgaria’s sea capital – Varna – from June 17 to June 19, 2010.
The conference theme has been defined after careful consideration of the role information and communication technologies play in providing quality education for all. Within the context of constant update, globalization and integration, the Balkan countries are aiming to build modern educational systems based on the development and effective use of ICT which are now part of educating both young and adult learners within the concept of life-long learning. Being acquainted with and understanding well the theoretical and methodological foundations of using ICT in education now comes to the fore. Exchanging good practices in the sphere of using ICT in education, education management, pre-service and in-service teacher training, as well as effective ICT education is currently of extreme importance.
The aim of the conference: To assist in developing national policies in effective educational ICT application, improvement in the exchange of innovative practices in order to multiply the Balkan countries’ experience and to enhance cooperation among specialists in this vital sphere.

Requirements and deadlines
- All materials should be sent in full to the organizer no later than the May 31st 2010 at the following email address: r.penkova@abv.bg
- All research reports are to be presented in a summarized version at the conference. Duration of presentation – up to 10 minutes.
- Materials, whose authors fail to attend the conference will not be published in the conference proceedings
Research reports formatting requirements
The research reports should not be longer than 5 pages : page size: А4, font: Times New Roman; font size 12, margins – top 30 mm, bottom, right and left – 20 mm; line spacing – single.
Participation fee
- 35 euro
Information about the deadline and the method of paying the participation fee will soon be announced.
